Grammar is the communication backbone that allows kids (and adults!) to convey their thoughts logically and clearly. A strong grasp of grammar is essential to becoming a strong writer, storyteller, and speaker. Mastering this skill set early ensures that your kids are set up for a successful future in school, and beyond!
The Australian National Curriculum advises that kids develop a mastery of grammar that will help them become proficient in their use of written and oral language. This command of grammar requires an understanding of concepts such as the different parts of speech (e.g. noun, verb, adjective), various verb tenses (e.g. play-played, go-went), the plural of nouns (e.g. pen-pens, box-boxes, man-men), the syntax of simple and complex sentences and questions, and the correct use of punctuation. Our range of grammar and punctuation worksheets and English grammar workbooks for kids cover these concepts in bite-size learning activities. Bite-size learning encourages kids to practise in short, manageable sessions that will make learning stick!
