A Cosmic Kids’ Podcast Adventure About Space, Astronauts & Orbits

Welcome back to Litera City, where curiosity can launch you straight into the stars!
This week, Mayor Bogart is certain he’s uncovered a terrifying secret: a giant “metal castle” is floating above his city… watching him.

Luckily, Armie the armadillo is here to explain what’s really going on — and take the mayor (and your family!) on a fun, fact-packed journey into outer space.

A Sky-High Mix of Comedy & Science

When the Mayor discovers the International Space Station circling Earth, he immediately panics and puts a saucepan on his head for “protection.” Armie steps in to explain:

  • What the International Space Station (ISS) really is

  • Why astronauts float, eat squishy food, and sleep taped to the walls

  • What life in zero gravity actually feels like

  • Why everything in space has to be efficient to work

Soon the Mayor learns that space isn’t scary — it’s spectacular!
(Though he still threatens to build his own rival “Bogart Station”… of course.)

This playful back-and-forth makes complex ideas easy for kids to understand while keeping them giggling the whole time.

Lightbulb Words of the Week

As always, this episode highlights three vocabulary words woven naturally into the story — perfect for boosting your child’s language skills.

🌍 Orbit (n.)

The repeating path one object takes around another in space — like how the ISS circles Earth every 90 minutes.

Astronaut (n.)

A scientist or engineer trained to travel and work in outer space — a real-life “star sailor.”

♻️ Efficient (adj.)

Doing something with as little waste as possible. On the ISS, everything — even air and water — is reused to save resources.

Your child will hear each word in context during the story, and then hear them again in the song for double learning reinforcement!
