Year 2 is an empowering time for kids: as their reading skill set expands, they begin to understand the world around them in new ways.

Kids around this age are typically entering the final phase of phonics instruction, applying the skills they've learned so far to new content, and improving fluency and reading comprehension. For kids who still need some phonics revision our collection of worksheets for 6-7 year olds includes our Foolproof Phonics Part 2 printable. Foolproof Phonics takes kids through the different levels of phonics learning and the terms they need to know, exactly the way they do it in school, and Part 2 continues where Part 1 left off. Although it is aimed at Year 1 pupils, it may still be helpful for older kids. These printables are engaging and fun, and take the stress out of learning letter-sound correspondences.
